Message Title: It's Not the Size of Mountain that Matters It's the Size of Your Faith
Scripture: 1Kings 17:12

1 Kings 17:12
So she said, “As the Lord your God lives, I do not have bread, only a handful of flour in a bin, and a little oil in a jar; and see, I am gathering a couple of sticks that I may go in and prepare it for myself and my son, that we may eat it, and die.”

The prophet Elijah was hiding out when the brook he was using to sustain himself dried up. He was then told by God to leave and there would be a widow women who would take care of him. When he meets her she tells him, she is about to eat the last of her food and her and her son would then wait to die.
Elijah, the man of God knew what God had told him and that God would supply both of their needs. The widow women had given up and accepted the fact she and her son were going to die. Now God, did not wish for either one of them to die. But, in order to save both he had to allow the brook to dry up. Which made Elijah move from a comfortable spot to somewhere unknown, for Elijah to be available to increase the widow’s faith to save them both. We might ask, why didn’t God just provide for the both of them where they were at in their current position?

Verse 12       “So she said, “As the Lord your God lives…”

She didn’t know God did the in the way Elijah did.
Therefore, her faith did not allow God to move on her half alone. God had to send Elijah to show her that God would supply her needs and when she was able to see that her faith was then increased.

You can be one of two people in this story.

1.      Elijah who by no fault of his own gets moved from a cozy little brook to increase the faith of someone else. How many times do we find ourselves in a w spot in life and wonder why. Do we ever consider that this very well be for the benefit of the ones around us to see God working on our lives.

2.      We could take the role of the widow women who needs something from God but doesn’t have the faith to receive it. Are you looking at God in someone else’s life hoping he will help you or are you desiring to know God on a personal level?

Message Title: I Am The Resurrection And The Life
Scripture: John 11:24-25

Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live
John 11:25

This a story in the Bible where Jesus was called upon to come and pray for someone. Jesus tarried a few days then went to see the gentleman. When Jesus arrived the gentleman had already died. Jesus enters a conversation with the dead man’s sister, where he tells her that her brother will rise again. She agrees that on resurrection day he will rise again.

Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day.
John 11:24

Back to verse 25 he tells her I am the resurrection.
Many times in our lives we lose things. We become old, and we think it can’t happen now. Bad decisions, stop certain things from happening. We lose friendships, family members, job opportunities the list could go on and on. After the loss of whatever it is or was, we get religious. Just like the sister in this story. We say to ourselves and whoever else will listen, “God will restore it all on judgement day.” When Jesus is saying to us, “I am the resurrection.” We our waiting for a restoration that has already happen. It’s not that we our waiting for him, it’s him, waiting on us. When you put your faith in Christ Jesus, the things your lost start to be restored. Sometimes fast, sometimes slow. Nevertheless, God will start to restore you. It may not be with that particular company or person but, the hole the loss caused gets filled.
Stop trying to live with loss and start living with the fact you serve a living God who is still in the business of restoring his children.
