Speaker: Pastor Diego Rodriguez
Message Title: Show Me Your Glory
Scriptures: Exodus 33:14-23.

One of the most common questions and hardest to answer is, “Why do some prayers get answered and others don’t?” I must warn you. We will not get to all the reason why today. Hopefully, this writing will help you understand this questions a little more.
What we are asking for in prayer is to essentially see the glory of God. There are some steps to making this happen. Here are a few basic ones. Let’s start first with these scriptures.
Exodus 33:14-18
14 And He said, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”
15 Then he said to Him, “If Your Presence does not go with us, do not bring us up from here. 16 For how then will it be known that Your people and I have found grace in Your sight, except You go with us? So we shall be separate, Your people and I, from all the people who are upon the face of the earth.”
17 So the Lord said to Moses, “I will also do this thing that you have spoken; for you have found grace in My sight, and I know you by name.”
18 And he said, “Please, show me Your glory.”
Notice in verse 14 he says, “My Presence will go…and bring you rest.”
Knowing that God is with us should bring us a rest we may not feel before entering into prayer. Not finding rest because we told God what we wanted and a lot of times how we wanted it done. Just knowing that he is there and due to that fact we are going to be alright no matter the outcome of the prayer.
This is where verse fifteen comes in. I don’t want my answer to prayer to go outside of whatever God wants done.
Verse sixteen. And in answering our prayer or guiding us through whatever it is we are praying about, let the world see that we walk in your grace. In other words, they may have not seen why it was or was not answered. We may not have it seen why it was or was not answered. When it’s all over with the world will know and so shall we. It worked out better his way. More doors open up, you were driven to go another direction. Which if, you had not gone, you would have never learned or experience what you now hold dear. We will see his glory in our lives.
Exodus 33:18-23
18 And he said, “Please, show me Your glory.”
19 Then He said, “I will make all My goodness pass before you, and I will proclaim the name of the Lord before you. I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.” 20 But He said, “You cannot see My face; for no man shall see Me, and live.” 21 And the Lord said, “Here is a place by Me, and you shall stand on the rock. 22 So it shall be, while My glory passes by, that I will put you in the cleft of the rock, and will cover you with My hand while I pass by. 23 Then I will take away My hand, and you shall see My back; but My face shall not be seen.”
“Show me your glory,” Moses asked. God says you cannot unless I hide you in the cleft or you will die. Without the grace of God we die. The rock he places him on represents Jesus. His hand covering the rock represents his grace covering Moses (us). Our faith must be that Jesus is the only way to God and the only way God can or will hear us. When our faith is truly there. We will see the glory of God.
Be blessed in Jesus name.
