Message Title: Time to Call the Fire Down
Responsive Reading: Psalms 46:10; 1Kings 18:25-38

There are times in our life when life gets downright hard. We go to church and the preacher says, “Trust God." He or she gives us an inspiring sermon about holding on and not giving up. Those sermons or messages are true. There are times when we need to let the plan of God work itself out in our lives.  We need be still and know that he is God.
Be still and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the Earth.   Psalms 46:10

The problem comes when we are sitting still when we should be fighting.  Can you imagine if David walked down to Goliath and then sat still? Let me tell you there would be a different ending to that story. There a lot of stories in the Bible we could mention with similar outcomes if the person would have decided to sit still instead of act. Sitting still is just waiting to receive instructions from God before moving forward. We must actively seek his wisdom and knowledge then act in that wisdom and knowledge. This wisdom and knowledge comes from prayer and reading His word. The biggest thing I see is this, God will tell someone what to do and they hesitate in doing it or don't do it at all.
When Elijah was faced with a huge problem when he built an altar called on the false prophets to come. After trying all day they could not get the alter to catch fire.  At last Elijah, called out to God and Fire came down and consumed the sacrifice. (full story can be found in 1 Kings 18:25- 38)
Whatever your situation is it might be time to stop waiting and act upon what God has told you what to do.
Call Fire from Heaven.
1Kings 18:25 And Elijah said unto the prophets of Baal, Choose you one bullock for yourselves, and dress it first; for ye are many; and call on the name of your gods, but put no fire under.
26 And they took the bullock which was given them, and they dressed it, and called on the name of Baal from morning even until noon, saying, O Baal, hear us. But there was no voice, nor any that answered. And they leaped upon the altar which was made.
27 And it came to pass at noon, that Elijah mocked them, and said, Cry aloud: for he is a god; either he is talking, or he is pursuing, or he is in a journey, or peradventure he sleepeth, and must be awaked.
28 And they cried aloud, and cut themselves after their manner with knives and lancets, till the blood gushed out upon them.
29 And it came to pass, when midday was past, and they prophesied until the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that there was neither voice, nor any to answer, nor any that regarded.
30 And Elijah said unto all the people, Come near unto me. And all the people came near unto him. And he repaired the altar of the LORD that was broken down.
31 And Elijah took twelve stones, according to the number of the tribes of the sons of Jacob, unto whom the word of the LORD came, saying, Israel shall be thy name:
32 And with the stones he built an altar in the name of the LORD: and he made a trench about the altar, as great as would contain two measures of seed.
33 And he put the wood in order, and cut the bullock in pieces, and laid him on the wood, and said, Fill four barrels with water, and pour it on the burnt sacrifice, and on the wood.
34 And he said, Do it the second time. And they did it the second time. And he said, Do it the third time. And they did it the third time.
35 And the water ran round about the altar; and he filled the trench also with water.
36 And it came to pass at the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that Elijah the prophet came near, and said, LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel, let it be known this day that thou art God in Israel, and that I am thy servant, and that I have done all these things at thy word.
37 Hear me, O LORD, hear me, that this people may know that thou art the LORD God, and that thou hast turned their heart back again.
38 Then the fire of the LORD fell, and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench.

Message Title:  Speaking With Love & Fire
Responsive Reading: Acts 2:1-4, 37-41.

A lot of times I hear the phrase, “I’m just going to Love them.” Or, something similar. When speaking about how a person is going to respond to a friend or relative who is making bad decisions. I also only find this type of response when it comes to telling someone they should repent and turn to God.
You never hear of a doctor just loving a patient and not telling them what they are sick with, and how to proceed. People expect the doctor to tell what is wrong and how to method in which to fix the problem.
I knew a lady whose husband was diagnosed with diabetes. At first the doctor said he could control it with a new diet plan. After a while the doctor had to prescribe insulin. Lastly the doctor had to amputate his foot. Now, this all happen not due to the doctor not giving him the steps to control his diabetes. It was due to the fact that the man could not get himself to say no to foods he was supposed to eat and his wife saying she loved him too much to say, “No.” when he complained to her about not being able to eat what he wanted.
Is our love someone actually bringing them more harm? We don’t want to offend or upset anyone. But, is that causing someone to die.
The Bible tells us that Jesus Christ loved us so much that he died for us. It also says why he had to. We are all sinners. Love someone enough to tell them this and to repent before it’s to late.

Acts 2:1 ¶ And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.
4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Acts 2:37 ¶ Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?
38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.
40 And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.
41 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.

1 Peter sinks when attempting to walk on water.
2 Gets rebuked by Jesus for wanting Him to go the cross
3 Denies knowing Christ

One of the most loving thing you'll ever do is tell someone to Repent

Message Title: From Book to Living Word of God
Scripture: John 5:46 & 47

For if you believed Moses, you would believe Me; for he wrote about Me. 47 But if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe My words?”
John5:46&47 nkjv

Many of us in the Church attend services. Bible studies, Men’s group, women’s, young adults, the list of services we may attend is almost limitless. We learn and use the church lingo. Memorize scriptures. Even learn certain bible definitions in Greek and Hebrew. That’s great and I recommend learning as much as you can. The problem comes when all you have is your knowledge as your evidence of Jesus The Christ. In the passage Jesus was going against some of their traditions and what they believed to be true. They were rejecting him because he did not fit in their way of thinking.
We can run into in our own lives when God doesn't answer prayers the way we think it should be answered. If God goes outside the lines of our belief system then it can't be God. You will learn a lot about God by attending church, learning the Bible. That all must be applied to every day for you to really know who God is and how he works.
In Genesis, we read that God visited Adam daily. He has always been a God who wanted a personal relationship with us. He still wants a personal relationship with us. My walk with God and your walk with God will at times look different. It's personal. The same as my marriage will look different than maybe yours. You don’t really know someone until you spend time with them. Walk with them, travel with them. We will never fully understand His Word, heart or Grace until we apply the scriptures to our lives.

Message Title: Every Knee Shall Bow and Tongue Shall Confess
Scripture: Philippians 2:9-11

Philippians 2:9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: 10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; 11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. (KJV)

Just the other day while driving home, the Lord brought this scripture to my memory. As I thought of this scripture I said to myself how wonderful that day will be when everyone bows and confesses that Jesus is Lord. As I continued the think about this scripture I realized that there is not a certain day we are waiting for. The Holy Spirit then reminded me haven’t you already bow to God and confessed him to be Lord. Yes, I have, I thought to myself.
As we enter in 2018 I wanted to bring to your attention if you don’t already know, that you are going to have some good days and some bad days. The problems you will have in 2018, the ones you might think will destroy you. The obstacle you can’t get around all have to bow down and confess that Jesus is Lord. There is nothing in 2018 that our Father can’t handle. You can walk into this year knowing you have victory over everything in Jesus name. I don’t know about you but, that makes me excited and confident knowing 2018 is already taking care of. Amen
