Message Title: Dwell in the Presence of God vs Visiting the Presence of God
Scripture: Psalms 140:13; 16:11
One of the biggest mistakes we make
in our prayer lives is we enter Gods presence we give him our prayer request
and then go on about our day. We come into a church setting feel the presence
of God and leave. We don’t feel him again until the next time we are in that
setting. That my friend is not dwelling in the presence of God that is visiting
the presence of God.
Psalms 140:13
Surely the righteous shall give
thanks to Your name;
The upright shall dwell in Your presence.
The upright shall dwell in Your presence.
It’s not something we do for part of the day. It’s
something we do all day every day. We need to be aware of God, acknowledge God
all day in everything that we might do throughout the day.
Psalms 16:11
You will show me
the path of life;
In Your presence is fullness of joy;
At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore
In Your presence is fullness of joy;
At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore
Notice it says “You will show me…”
He has not done it yet. Meaning this is an
everyday occurrence. Daily we need to be seeking out God. There are daily
decisions we are making we out knowing what he wanted us to do for that
particular situation.
How many times have you ask a question and after
you were done asking the question walked away before hearing the answer.
How many times has someone asked you a question
and someone walked away before you answered? Don’t you feel like saying, “What
did you even ask for if you’re going to listen to the answer?”
Think about God hearing your prayer and you leave
before getting your answer. Learn to stay in his presence and you get more
answers.
Be Blessed in Jesus name.
